Titanium placer is an important titanium metal raw material, which is widely used in aviation, aerospace, military, medical, chemical and other fields. However, titanium placer ore contains a large amount of impurities and difficult to handle minerals, which poses great difficulties for the extraction and application of titanium metal. To address this issue, we conducted gravity separation experiments on titanium sand ore.
1、 Test purpose
The purpose of this experiment is to reduce the impurity content in titanium sand ore, improve the grade of titanium sand ore, and provide better raw materials for subsequent extraction processes through the gravity separation process.
2、 Experimental principle
The gravity separation experiment of titanium sand ore mainly adopts methods such as gravity separation, flotation, magnetic separation, etc. Through different physical and chemical reactions, impurities are separated from titanium sand ore to achieve the goal of improving grade.
3、 Test steps
1. Sample preparation
Firstly, it is necessary to collect samples of titanium sand ore and perform crushing, screening, and mixing processes to prepare samples that meet the test requirements.
2. Re-selection test
Place the sample in the reselection machine for reselection testing. The principle of gravity separator is to use the density difference of different minerals to separate minerals through the action of water flow. During the experiment, it is necessary to adjust the parameters of the gravity separator based on the density and color characteristics of the minerals, so that the minerals can be effectively separated.
3. Flotation test
Place the re selected minerals into a flotation machine for flotation testing. 4. Magnetic separation test
Place the flotation minerals into a magnetic separator for magnetic separation testing. The principle of a magnetic separator is to use the magnetic differences of minerals to separate them through the action of a magnetic field. During the experiment, it is necessary to adjust the parameters of the magnetic separator based on the magnetic differences of the minerals, so that the minerals can be effectively separated.
5. Result analysis
Based on the experimental results, analyze the impurity content and grade changes in titanium sand ore, and summarize and analyze the parameters during the experimental process. At the same time, we also summarized the advantages, disadvantages, and applicability of methods such as gravity separation, flotation, and magnetic separation, providing more ideas and directions for the treatment of titanium sand ore.
